  • Do I need previous singing experience to join SPS?
Not at all. It doesn't matter whether you're a complete newbie or you've been singing for years, all levels of experience are welcome at SPS. If you love singing and can hold a tune, we'd love to have you join our choir.
  • Is there an age limit to join SPS?
We accept all singers aged 14+ years.
  • How do I join SPS?
To make sure we have a base level of vocal ability for our performances, we have an informal audition process. You'll just need to submit a short video audition to our Choir Director, Nicole. If you're accepted to join, you'll then be invited to take part in a 3-week trial so that you can experience SPS for yourself. After that, as long as you're happy, you can then sign up for full membership. Find out more about joining SPS If you have any questions not answered in our FAQs just drop us an email to nicole@singpeoplesing.co.uk.
  • How much does it cost?
SPS membership is paid per term and, depending on the number of weeks in the term, will cost £7.95 per week. The membership includes all resources, hire of the rehearsal venue, promotional activity, and paying our Choir Director for her time. Membership must be paid in advance for the full term. Unfortunately, we can't provide any refunds.
  • Can I pay in instalments?
In order to book venues, organise rehearsals and plan resources, we need all of our members to commit to a full term by paying in advance.
  • What do membership fees pay for?
We'd love to offer the choir experience for free but, in order to deliver a fun and professional experience we need to charge membership fees. Our fees cover the following: - Expertly delivered rehearsals by our professional Choir Director - Hire of our weekly rehearsal venue - The preparation of bespoke song arrangements - Recording of backing tracks for learning resources outside of the rehearsal space - Promotional activity and marketing for our performances - Administration fees and business taxes
  • What happens if I can't attend a rehearsal?
Ideally, we'd love every one of our choir members to be at every rehearsal, but we understand that life can sometimes get in the way. If you can't attend a session, we ask that you let Nicole know as far in advance as possible. You'll then just need to catch up on any material you missed before the next rehearsal – your fellow choir members are pretty awesome at recording and sharing rehearsal lessons.
  • Do I have to take part in public performances?
There's absolutely no obligation to perform publicly with SPS. However, we are a performance choir so we would ask you to consider if SPS is the right choice of choir for you if you don't want to perform and show off your talent to the public.
  • Can I book SPS for my event?
Absolutely! We would love to hear from you if you'd like us to perform at an event you're organising. Over the years we've performed at corporate and private events, including parties, weddings, festivals and seasonal events. Find out how to book us here
